Job summary

Centerboard in Lynn, MA is seeking a Direct Care Staff member for an Intensive Treatment Residence. You will support youth through daily routines, transportation, medical appointments, school, therapy, and life skills, in a safe and trauma-informed setting.

Hours include overnight and weekend shifts. This safety-sensitive role requires a valid driver’s license, MAP-certified medication administration, and active participation in trainings to uphold Centerboard’s commitment to youth welfare.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; college coursework or a degree is a plus.
• Experience working with youth or in a residential setting strongly preferred.
• Strong communication, organization, and relationship-building skills are essential.
• Must have a valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and be willing to use a personal vehicle when agency vehicles are unavailable.
• Must pass an initial competency evaluation and participate in ongoing training and professional development.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and assist youth with daily activities, transportation, medical appointments, school, therapy, and life skills.
• Complete daily logs, incident reports, progress notes, and required program paperwork.
• Lead group and 1:1 sessions and participate in daily activities.
• Apply de-escalation and behavior management techniques as trained.
• Advocate for residents and participate in treatment meetings.
• Maintain cleanliness, conduct room checks, plan meals, and follow safety protocols.
• Administer medications per MAP certification and conduct random drug tests.
• Relay information across shifts, use the On-Call system, and report concerns promptly.
• Attend required trainings and track training hours.
