Thompson Hardwoods, Inc., a member of the Beasley Group, is seeking a reliable, hardworking, and safety-conscious Wheel Loader Operator to join our team in Hazlehurst, Georgia.The Wheel Loader Operator is responsible for safely operating heavy equipment to load, unload, transport, and organize materials throughout the facility. This position plays an important role in maintaining efficient material handling operations, supporting production needs, and ensuring a safe and organized work environment.The ideal candidate will have previous heavy equipment operating experience, strong attention to safety, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced industrial setting.Key ResponsibilitiesSafely operate a wheel loader to move, load, unload, and transport materials throughout the facility.Load trucks, trailers, bins, and designated material storage areas as directed.Transport wood materials, sawdust, bark, chips, and other production-related materials as needed.Maintain a steady flow of materials to support daily production operations.Perform daily pre-operation inspections of equipment, including checking fluid levels, tires, hydraulic systems, and other components.Report equipment malfunctions, maintenance concerns, and unsafe conditions to supervisors immediately.Perform basic equipment maintenance, including fueling, cleaning, and lubrication as required.Maintain clean and organized work areas, roadways, and material storage locations.Follow established loading procedures to prevent equipment damage, material spills, and workplace accidents.Communicate effectively with supervisors, truck drivers, and other equipment operators.Follow all company safety policies, operating procedures, and environmental guidelines.Assist with additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.Qualifications and RequirementsPrevious experience operating a wheel loader or similar heavy equipment is preferred.Experience working in a sawmill, lumber yard, woodyard, or industrial environment is a plus.Basic knowledge of heavy equipment operation, maintenance, and safety procedures.Ability to safely maneuver heavy equipment in areas with pedestrians, vehicles, and other machinery.Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Dependable attendance and strong work ethic.Willingness to work overtime, extended shifts, and weekends as needed.Physical Requirements and Work EnvironmentAbility to safely climb in and out of heavy equipment throughout the workday.Ability to sit for extended periods while operating machinery.Ability to operate equipment controls involving repetitive hand and foot movements.Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, and rain.Ability to work around loud equipment, dust, moving machinery, and uneven terrain.Must wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow all company safety standards.BenefitsEligible employees may have access to company benefits, including:Health insurance benefitsPaid time off (PTO)401(k) retirement planAdditional company benefitsAbout Thompson Hardwoods, Inc.Thompson Hardwoods, Inc., located in Hazlehurst, Georgia, is part of the Beasley Group.
