Job summary

Firelands Fabrication is seeking a skilled Welder/Fabricator to join our fabrication shop in New London, OH. You will weld using GMAW, FCAW and SMAW, read blueprints, and shape metal to create structural components.

The position offers a second shift: Monday through Thursday, 4:00pm–2:30am, with a night shift premium for all hours worked. Candidates must have a high school diploma and welding experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Proven welder experience in manufacturing.
• Able to obtain welding certification.
• Familiar with reading blueprints and welding symbols.
• Experience with GMAW, FCAW and SMAW.

Responsibilities

• Perform welding tasks using GMAW, FCAW and SMAW processes.
• Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and engineering drawings.
• Cut, shape, and assemble metal components to create structures or products.
• Position and layout steel components and holes.
• Tack weld secondary parts to main steel member.
• Complete welding of all secondary pieces if required.
• Grind and wire wheel steel members.
• Other duties as assigned.
