Job summary

Central Steel & Wire, part of the Ryerson Family of Companies, is seeking a Warehouse Operator for the 3rd shift to handle staging, packing, and picking of material for shipments. The role emphasizes accuracy, safety, and SAP-based shipping/receiving tasks.

Responsibilities include forklift movement, packaging to spec, and completing paperwork while aiming for maximum productivity. Apprenticeship onboarding is part of the process; the company offers benefits and a path for growth.

Qualifications

• Pass a skills-based assessment evaluating reading, math, inspection & measurement, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
• Minimum 2 years of similar job experience preferred.
• Able to pass physical requirements exam for vision, hearing, and mobility.
• Enrollment in a registered apprenticeship during onboarding.

Responsibilities

• Picking and staging feedstock for fulfillment orders.
• Breaking down bulk bundles for customer-specific orders.
• Packaging of material to customer requirements.
• Operating a sit-down or side loader forklift to move material as needed.
• Proper completion of paperwork and SAP work order confirmation for shipping/receiving on the computer.
• Maximum productivity for finished goods creation.
