Job summary

Leggett & Platt is seeking a production associate to operate VRC machines and support the bedding components line in our Kentucky facility. You will monitor production quality, load clips, clear jams, and communicate issues to the team leader while maintaining safety and efficiency.

The role requires physical stamina, the ability to lift up to 75 lbs, and strict adherence to work instructions. Shift is B with night hours, and mandatory training is provided.

Qualifications

• Must be able to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting up to 75 lbs.
• Able to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Capable of working with RF scanning and machine operations.

Responsibilities

• Operate VRC Machines efficiently.
• Responsible for production and quality on all VRC Machines under worker’s operation or in worker’s group.
• Visually inspect every unit for non-conforming product.
• Hang units in proper location within proper tag location.
• Initial tag identification tags.
• Must be able to identify and load proper clips on VRC and hand stations.
• Must be able to clear all jams from VRC and hand stations.
• Assist Maintenance personnel in identifying mechanical/electrical problems that may hinder performance, effect quality, or reduce life of the equipment.
• Must clip any unit at the request of team leader.
• Conform to all Quality/Safety requirements and procedures.
• Participate in training programs.
• Follow all written procedures, work instructions, and inspection plans.
• Keep a clean and orderly workplace.
• Participate in the Continuous Quality Improvement Process.
• Identify, record, and communicate any problems relating to product, process, and the quality system.
• Stop the production of nonconformities related to product, process, and the system.
• Initiate action by recommending or providing solutions.
• Verify any action that prevents nonconformities is working.
• Follow up, as necessary.
• Participate in Total Productive Manufacturing Process and 6S Processes.
• Perform other duties assigned by team leader.
