Job summary

Qualifications

• Active RN license in good standing.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program if less than 3 years’ experience.
• BLS through the American Heart Association or Red Cross with card in-hand before start date.

Responsibilities

• Provides vascular access services to UCHealth patients.
• Assesses patient for appropriate vascular access device(s) with the care team.
• Places PICC lines, midlines, ultrasound-guided IVs or recommends alternative access.
• Troubleshoots complications with vascular access devices.
• Documents vascular access information in the electronic health record.
• Evaluates learning needs of staff, patients and family and provides education.
• Delegates care to ancillary staff; may precept students or new hires.
• Works in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
