Job summary

BlueScope Coated Products in Jackson, Mississippi, is seeking a Night Shift Utility Operator to cover multiple roles on the paint line and keep operations running during breaks and vacations. You will cross-train across material handler and operator roles and provide leadership on the shift as the second in command to the Production Supervisor.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
• 2+ years manufacturing operating experience preferred.
• Cross-train across multiple roles or machines to support operations.
• Knowledge of basic hand and power tools.

Responsibilities

• Cross-train across all material handler and operator roles to support continuous paint line operation.
• Serve as lead resource on shift, guiding and coaching operators and material handlers.
• Provide coverage for planned and unplanned absences to minimize downtime on the paint line.
• Operate overhead crane and forklift as needed.
• Communicate with Production and Quality Control to resolve issues and meet goals.
