Job summary

BlueScope Coated Products in Jackson, MS, is seeking a Material Handler/Operator to support the paint line and related processes. The role emphasizes cross-training across multiple production tasks, crane and forklift operation, and reliability on the shift.

You will work with Production and Quality Control to troubleshoot issues, participate in safety and continuous improvement initiatives, and adapt to 12-hour shifts as needed.

Qualifications

• Cross-train across multiple roles to support paint line operation.
• Operate an overhead crane and drive a forklift.
• Provide shift coverage to minimize downtime.
• Transition between roles based on production needs.
• Lead resource on shift with guidance to operators.
• Understand coil defects and required actions at finish coater.
• Follow Quality and Environmental Management System principles.
• Communicate daily with Production and Quality Control to resolve issues.
• Participate in safety, quality, productivity, and reliability improvements.
