Job summary

BlueScope Coated Products, LLC in Mississippi is seeking a Utility Operator to cover multiple paint line roles, cross-train across material handler and operator tasks, and support the Production Supervisor as second in command. This role emphasizes leadership on shift, problem resolution with Production and Quality Control, and continuous improvement in safety, quality, productivity, and line reliability.

You will work up to 12-hour shifts, operate overhead crane and forklift, and meet PPE,

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 2+ years manufacturing operating experience.
• Cross-training across multiple roles or machines.
• Knowledge of basic hand and power tools.
• Ability to pass background check and drug test.

Responsibilities

• Cover multiple roles on the paint line to maintain operation.
• Cross-train across material handler and operator roles.
• Provide leadership and coaching on shift to operators and material handlers.
• Minimize paint line downtime during planned/unplanned absences.
• Participate in safety, quality, productivity, and reliability improvements.
