Job summary

Lactalis American Group is seeking aMaintenance Technician to operate and maintain ammonia refrigeration systems, boilers, steam, and compressed air systems at our Murfreesboro facility. The role requires 1–2 years of maintenance experience or a technical trade certification and may require RETA CARO/CIRO certification within 12 months.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–2 years of electrical and/or mechanical maintenance experience or technical trade certification.
• Preferred experience with ammonia refrigeration systems HVAC, compressed air, electrical distribution, and steam systems.
• RETA CARO or CIRO certification required or obtainable within 12 months.
• Ability to use APR respirators and SCBA.
• Ability to work as part of a HAZMAT team.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain ammonia refrigeration systems, boilers, steam, and compressed air systems.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs.
• Conduct daily ammonia system inspections and rounds.
• Support equipment modifications and technical troubleshooting.
• Participate in Process Safety Management (PSM) and Root Cause Analysis activities.
• Perform maintenance during both production and scheduled downtime.
• Assist maintenance technicians and support training of new employees.
• Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives.
• Ability and willingness to work overtime, any shift, including days, nights, weekends and holidays.
• Plant operation is 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
