Job summary

Amgen is seeking a Manager Manufacturing (Upstream) for the night shift in North Carolina. You will lead a frontline team of manufacturing associates, ensuring GMP-compliant drug substance production and a safe operating environment.

Responsibilities include coaching staff, driving Lean initiatives, and achieving short- and long-term operational goals within a dynamic, high-velocity plant setting.

Qualifications

• Highest degree required in manufacturing/biotech or related field.
• Experience leading teams in GMP manufacturing environments.
• Strong leadership, coaching, and development of floor staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead on-shift manufacturing operations on night shift (2-2-3, 12-hour rotation).
• Champion safe, compliant production with Lean culture and continuous improvement.
• Define objectives, manage staffing, training, and performance.
• Coordinate with QA/QC, Facilities & Engineering, PPIC, Regulatory.
• Develop CAPAs and resolve daily production issues.
