Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Completion of an approved unit coordinator or clerk course preferred.
• Current CPR certification (BLS-Health Care Provider) required.
• Previous health care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain patient charts and medical records.
• Operate communication systems including telephone, paging, pneumatic tube, and other devices.
• Assist with greeting, admission, registration, transfer, transport, and discharge of patients as assigned.
• Maintain unit and office supplies, stocking as needed.
• Ensure unit areas meet regulatory standards.
• Act as a preceptor for orientation and training of other Unit Coordinator staff.
• Coordinate transport of non-controlled medications from Pharmacy to practitioners or to secured storage.
• Initiate emergency communications (Code Blue/Medical Assist/ACT) as required.
