Job summary

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift in an acute care setting requiring a PA or compact RN license and BLS certification. The unit is 33 beds with telemetry, caring for ortho, bariatric, CHF, COPD and TIA patients on a 12-hour night schedule.

ACLS is preferred but not required; BSN is not required. The facility uses MEDITECH EMR and offers travel housing and licensure reimbursements. First-time travelers are welcome to apply.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (PA or compact) required.
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required.
• BLS certification required.
• ACLS certification preferred but not required.
• BSN not required.

Responsibilities

• Care for a 33-bed Med/Surg unit with telemetry monitoring.
• Patient population includes ortho, bariatric, CHF, COPD, TIA and cath patients.
• Maintain about a 6:1 nurse-to-patient ratio.
• Night shift schedule: 7pm–7am; 12-hour shifts.
• Weekends/holidays as needed; every-other-weekend option available.
• Use MEDITECH EMR.
• Support from CCU staff and supervisors on each shift.
• Provide direct patient care on a busy Med/Surg unit with telemetry.
• Scrubs not provided; no color requirement.
• Facility may cancel up to 2 shifts per 13-week contract.
