Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with at least 1 year of experience and a Wisconsin license for a night shift assignment providing respiratory care across multiple units.

Night shifts are 3x12 hours from 18:30 to 7:00. You will rotate through ED, Medical Surgical, ICU, PACU, Ambulatory and stepdown units, caring for neonatal, pediatric and adult patients with a 1:10 ratio. Epic EMR experience is required.

Qualifications

• Current RRT certification and BLS required.
• ACLS certification required.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience.
• Wisconsin or Compact RT license required if applicable.
• NBRC and PALS certifications preferred.
• Community hospital and Trauma Level II experience preferred.
• Experience with adult critical care and ED settings.
• Airway management including intubation assist, extubation, and tracheostomy care.
• Ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, and weaning from mechanical ventilation.
• Experience troubleshooting high pressure alarms.
• SSN and DOB required at time of consideration.
• RTO must be submitted at time of consideration.

Responsibilities

• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 18:30 to 7:00.
• Rotates through ED, Medical Surgical, ICU, PACU, Ambulatory, and stepdown units.
• Provides care for neonatal, pediatric, and adult patients.
• Patient ratio of 1:10.
• Performs oxygen therapy, ventilator management, breathing treatments, bedside PFTs, bedside bronchoscopies, and ABGs in the ED.
• Epic EMR experience required.
• Local candidates accepted at a reduced rate within 50 miles of the facility.
• Travelers may return to the facility only after a minimum 1-year separation.
• Travel pairs accepted.
• Facility cannot accommodate travelers with latex allergies.
• NIHSS certification may be pending at the time of consideration but must be completed during compliance.
• Passport-style badge photo required within 24 hours of offer acceptance.
• Two supervisor references required after offer acceptance.
• Orientation includes facility modules averaging 3-4 hours in length.
