American Traveler is hiring a Psychiatric RN for a night shift Behavioral Health unit position in Ohio. Requires 2+ years of psych RN experience and an active OH or compact license.

The role covers a 72-bed unit with adult patients. You will perform admissions, discharges, shift assessments, and med administration, using Pyxis and HCS systems, with a 7:00 PM–7:30 AM schedule and no on-call requirements.

Qualifications

• Active RN license OH or Compact required.
• BLS and Handle With Care certifications required.
• Minimum 2 years of psych RN experience.
• Associate's Degree in Nursing required.
• Skilled in COWS, CIWA, responses to Code Blues and violent incidents, admissions, discharges, shift assessments, and medication administration.
• Experience with de-escalation techniques.
• Proficiency with Pyxis and HCS systems.

Responsibilities

• Behavioral Health unit with 72 beds caring for adult patients.
• Patient ratios of 1:4-6.
• Diagnoses include alcohol/drug addiction, bipolar disorder, depression, anxiety, psychosis, and schizophrenia.
• Uses HCS and Pyxis systems with paper charting.
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM.
• Every other weekend, totaling 24 hours per two-week period.
• Floating required as needed.
• No on-call requirements.
• Provide psychiatric nursing care including admissions, discharges, shift assessments, and medication administration.
• Respond to Code Blue and violent incidents using de-escalation techniques.
• Must be pleasant, hardworking, detail-oriented, and a strong team player.
• Dress code: navy blue scrubs with shirt underneath or scrub coat, no hoods.
• Must reside 60 miles or greater from the facility to be considered for travel rate.
• Not eligible if previously worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months.
• Cannot be employed elsewhere on a full-time basis while on assignment.
