Job summary

Community Partners in Action (CPA) is seeking a Transportation/ Driver for the Men’s Work Release Program in Hartford, CT. The role pays $21.00 per hour with a night schedule from 10:30 pm to 12:30 am, Monday through Friday, performing safe, reliable transportation for residents.

Responsibilities include conducting vehicle inspections, maintaining logs, and ensuring timely arrivals while upholding professional boundaries and compassionate service.

Qualifications

• Requires valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
• Minimum two years of driving experience.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Bilingual English/Spanish desirable.
• Reliable transportation to and from work.
• Individuals with lived experience encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport up to six work release residents to and from their places of employment per schedule.
• Operate agency vehicles in compliance with traffic laws and policies.
• Conduct daily vehicle inspections for safety and operation.
• Maintain travel logs, mileage records, and vehicle inspection reports.
• Ensure vehicles are fueled and maintained; keep interiors/exteriors clean.
• Report maintenance needs or safety concerns to supervisor.
• Transport residents safely, respectfully, and on time.
• Maintain professionalism and appropriate boundaries with residents.
• Demonstrate reliability and pro-social behavior; support a safe transportation environment.
• Follow safety procedures and report incidents promptly.
• Maintain consistent attendance and readiness to perform duties.
• Stay alert during nighttime and extended drives.
• Assist passengers entering/exiting as needed.
• Communicate scheduling and operational issues with supervisors.
