Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a part-time Surgical Technician to support the operating room team in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities include aseptic setup, assisting the surgeon, maintaining sterile fields, and ensuring safe patient care with proper equipment handling.

The role requires completion of a Surgical Technology program and BLS certification within 6 months. No prior experience is required; candidates should be able to respond quickly and work a night/on-call schedule and

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited or approved program in Surgical Technology.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 6 months unless not required by leader.
• No experience required.
• Knowledge of aseptic surgical techniques and operating room equipment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, safe operating area and set up sterile field for procedures.
• Assist as Second Assistant and hand instruments during surgeries.
• Ensure environmental disinfection and proper setup/teardown of OR equipment.
• Report equipment and supply issues and transport materials as needed.
