Trinity Health in Ann Arbor, MI is seeking a part-time Surgical Technologist for the Labor and Delivery unit. The role supports the surgical team during 12-hour night shifts, with a requirement of 24 hours per week.

As part of our clinical team, you will prepare sterile setups, assist during procedures, and maintain sterile fields under supervision. Certification is required within 12 months of hire; an associate degree or equivalent is preferred.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or equivalent experience (minimum of 4 years) or Accredited Certification Program for Surgical Technology.
• Certification required within 12 months of hire.
• Experience: None unless no degree; with Associate’s degree, no experience required; without degree, two years of surgical technologist experience required.

Responsibilities

• Scrubs for surgical cases according to established sterile procedures; dons sterile gowns and gloves and assists the surgical team.
• Prepares for scheduled operative procedure by arranging sterile setup of instrument table with drapes, instruments and sutures; maintains sterile field.
• Passes instruments, sponges, sutures and other supplies to surgeons during procedures; assists during surgery and anticipates surgeon needs.
• Assists RN with circulating duties: opening supplies, positioning, obtaining equipment, bagging sponges and preparing operative site.
• Counts sponges, needles, and instruments at case start and end; ensures proper final counts.
• Assists with dressing of operative site following closing.
