Job summary

Trinity Health is seeking a part-time Surgical Technologist for the Labor and Delivery unit in Ann Arbor, with 12-hour night shifts. The role requires an Associate’s degree or an accredited Surgical Technology program, and certification within 12 months of hire.

Experience is flexible if the candidate has the right degree. Responsibilities include scrubbing for procedures, maintaining sterile fields, assisting surgeons, and supporting circulating duties.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or equivalent experience (minimum of 4 years) or Accredited Certification Program for Surgical Technology.
• Certification required within 12 months of hire.
• Experience: None unless no degree; with Associate’s degree, no experience required; without degree, two years of surgical technologist experience.

Responsibilities

• Scrubs for surgical cases according to sterile procedures and assists the team.
• Prepares sterile setup of instrument table and maintains sterile field.
• Passes instruments and supplies to surgeons and assists during procedures.
• Assists with circulating duties such as positioning and preparing the operative site.
• Counts sponges, needles, and instruments at case start and end.
• Assists with dressing of operative site following closing.

Education

Associates degree or equivalent experience

Accredited Certification Program for Surgical Technology

Certification within 12 months of hire

Two years of surgical technologist experience (if no degree)
