Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in high school, completing a GED, or obtained a high school diploma or GED.
• Surgical Tech Certification required.
• 1–2 years of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Applies sterile technique (gowning, gloving, draping).
• Assists in handling and passing instrumentation using aseptic technique.
• Assists in transfer and positioning of patients.
• Collaborates with circulating nurse in room prep, supplies and equipment organization.
• Maintains and monitors the sterile field.
• Maintains equipment and instrumentation in proper condition.
• Responds to emergencies to prioritize patient needs.
• Advocates for patients and upholds safety and ethical practice.
• Uses sterilizers safely and appropriately.
