Job summary

Medical University of South Carolina (MUHA) seeks a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to cover weeknights at the West Ashley campus, caring for adult post-surgical patients across several specialties. The APP will be the primary provider, collaborating with nurses to monitor for complications and intervene as needed, with discharge orders completed after postoperative day one.

Required are a completed PA or APRN program and licensure or eligibility, plus BLS and ACLS.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program and currently licensed or eligible for licensure as a Physician Assistant.
• Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program and currently licensed or eligible for licensure as an APRN.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required.
• If applicable, DHEC and DEA license applications must be started prior to first day.

Responsibilities

• Care for adult post-surgical patients including ENT, GYN, Urology, General, Ortho, Plastics, and Endocrine.
• Serve as primary provider working with a nurse team to assess post-surgical complications and provide interventions/treatment.
• Complete discharge orders post op day one.
