Job summary

Novant Health in North Carolina is seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Provider for night-shift inpatient care in a surgical/trauma setting. The role involves both medical and some surgical procedures under physician direction, with weekend/holiday coverage and OR training for coverage needs.

The ideal candidate has two years of APP experience, holds NP or PA licensure in the state, and meets board certification requirements (NCCPA/ARC-PA or Acute Care cert).

Qualifications

• Masters of Physician Assistant Studies or Masters of Nurse Practitioner required.
• NCCPA and ARC-PA accreditation or board certification required.
• Current NP or PA license in appropriate state; DEA registry and ACLS/BLS required; ATLS after hire.
• 2+ years of APP experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient care under physicians' direction and perform selective medical/surgical procedures.
• Record findings and plan of care in H&P, consults or discharge summaries.
• Order and interpret laboratory and radiology examinations; determine treatment plans.
• Writes prescriptions and administers medications for procedures.
• Occasional first assist duties in the OR as needed.
