Job summary

Penske Logistics in Dearborn, MI is seeking a Supply Chain Supervisor for a 3rd shift (11:00pm–7:30am). You will lead a salaried team, manage performance, collaborate with customers, and guide new implementations to meet daily KPIs and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• 2 - 5 years of experience in the logistics / supply chain industry.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.
• Previous experience in a supervisory role.
• JDA Transportation Management System experience preferred.
• Must have strong attention to detail and effective communications skills.
• Strong customer focus.
• Must be skilled in Problem Solving / Process Improvement.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize time sensitive situations.
• Advanced desktop computer skills including Microsoft Excel and Outlook required.
• Must be able to learn and regularly operate various computer systems across different platforms.
• Ability to lead and develop team of salaried associates.
• Ability to develop and maintain professional working relationships with customers as well as Penske personnel.
• Team player with flexibility in working different shifts.
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.
• Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Lead team of salaried employees (includes: performance review, corrective action, and goal setting).
• Provide detailed instruction to various personnel via email and phone.
• Act as first level escalation for customer inquires.
• Assist in new customer implementations.
• Prioritize time sensitive situations.
• Work with team in scheduling deliveries to receivers and providing excellent customer service.
• Ensuring customer’s KPI’s are hit on a daily and weekly basis.
• Track shipments to ensure on time delivery is met.
• Handle rate negotiations with carriers on a spot rate basis.
• Analyze process data and work on continuous improvements.
• Identifying cost savings opportunities for the customer.
• Ensuring all business needs are covered including when there are vacations, illness, etc.
• Other projects as assigned by the manager.
