Job summary

Select Specialty Hospital - Charleston is seeking a Student Nurse Technician (Future Registered Nurse) for per diem night shifts. This role supports RN staff and provides basic patient care, with opportunities to gain NCLEX-aligned experience.

Requires current enrollment in an accredited nursing program (ADN/BSN) and proof of completion of the first year; BLS certification on hire. A $1,500 sign-on bonus is offered along with orientation and opportunities for advancement.

Qualifications

• Current enrollment in an accredited nursing school (ADN or BSN program) and proof of completion of the first year/fundamentals of nursing (or equivalent).
• Knowledge of basic nursing techniques and aseptic practices.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to follow instructions and collaborate with team.
• BLS certification required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Obtain vital signs, height, weight and demographic data.
• Assist patients with personal and daily care (bathing, oral hygiene, shaving, hair care).
• Assist with urinary catheter removal, finger stick blood sugars, bladder scans, specimen collection, ostomy care and drainage management.
• Remove peripheral IVs as directed by RN.
• Deliver meals and assist patients who cannot feed themselves; document oral intake.
• Turn and position immobile patients and assist with mobility.
• Transport patients to treatment centers as needed.
