Qualifications

• Knowledge of decontamination of surgical instruments.
• Experience with sterilization methods and processes.
• Ability to read and comprehend various written reports and documents.
• Excellent verbal communication skills for interaction with staff and customers.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Sort, disassemble, clean, and disinfect instruments per universal precautions.
• Prepare instrument sets/trays following recipe sheets.
• Maintain instrument tracking and perform quality checks on cleanliness and function.
• Operate decontamination machinery and ensure PPE usage.
• Load/unload sterilization carts per procedures; follow sterilization methods.
• Record sterilization data accurately in the tracking system and maintain documentation.
