Job summary

Northwell Health is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to join our Central Supply team in New Hyde Park, NY. The role involves disassembling, cleaning, sterilizing, reassembling and packaging sterile supplies, and maintaining inventory and records in accordance with department procedures.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Sterile processing certification (CRCST or CSPD) OR provisional certification (CRCST).
• Must complete NY State continuing education credits for certification maintenance.
• Ability to lift 25 pounds, stand, bend, lift and reach for extended periods.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English (verbal and written).

Responsibilities

• Disassembles, cleans, sterilizes, reassembles and packages sterile supplies per specifications.
• Uses the appropriate sterilization method for various instrumentation types.
• Operates washers, sterilizers, ultrasonic machines, steam and ethylene oxide sterilizers, heat sealers, and related equipment.
• Follows instrument count sheets and stores trays per guidelines.
• Maintains contaminant-free work environment and documents daily activities.
