Job summary

Loretto Hospital is seeking a skilled Stationary Engineer for the Third Shift in Chicago, IL. You will operate and maintain the hospital’s boiler, associated systems, and emergency generator, while keeping detailed logs and ensuring a safe environment for all occupants.

The role requires a valid City of Chicago Stationary Engineer license, a high school diploma or GED, and at least three years of maintenance experience. The position offers full-time hours with a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Requires valid Stationary Engineer’s license from City of Chicago.
• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Three years’ experience in general maintenance and repair work is required.
• Must be able to read and interpret safety rules, floor plans, schematics, diagrams, and operating manuals.

Responsibilities

• Operate and tend boiler, boiler auxiliaries, pumps, and related equipment.
• Control air conditioning equipment, air handling units, and emergency generator.
• Maintain daily logs and reports of equipment performance.
• Respond to hospital pager and support services administration as needed.
• Ensure safe environment for patients, staff and visitors.
