Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Stationary Engineer to maintain hospital utility systems, boilers, chillers, and emergency generators in our Chicago-area facilities. A valid City of Chicago Stationary Engineer License is required, with 1–2 years of related experience preferred.

You will perform preventative maintenance, respond to service requests, and coordinate with outside contractors, while supporting a safe and reliable environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

Qualifications

• Valid City of Chicago Stationary Engineer License.
• High School Diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots malfunctioning equipment and performs corrective actions or refers to supervisor.
• Servicing and repairing hospital utility and equipment systems.
• Performs preventative maintenance and updates tasks to ensure equipment is properly maintained.
• Responds to service requests, analyzes problems, and documents actions taken.
