Job summary

Kaiser Permanente in Hawaii is seeking a Staff Nurse to provide nursing care to patients and families, directing LPNs and nursing assistants while delivering quality care on a fast-paced unit. This is a full-time night-shift role on Oahu's Kula Hospital area.

The position requires graduation from an accredited nursing program, Hawaii RN licensure at hire, and BLS/CPR for professionals. One year of experience in a related specialty or completion of a formal course is preferred.

Qualifications

• RN licensure in Hawaii at hire.
• BLS or CPR for professionals.
• 1 year experience in specialty area or completion of a formal course in area of specialty.
• Strong knowledge of nursing process.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care and services to patients and families.
• Delegate nursing care according to legal and regulatory guidelines.
• Utilize nursing process to deliver care.
• Administer medications.
• Teach LPNs and nursing assistive personnel special tasks of nursing care.
• Verify staff competency to perform special tasks of nursing care.
• Serve as primary nurse/total patient caregiver.
• Act as resource nurse and preceptor.
• Take charge duties as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice.
