Job summary

Whirlwind Steel is seeking a dedicated Spray Painter to apply protective primers and finishing coats on metal products. You will prepare surfaces, mix coatings, and control spray processes to ensure high-quality finishes. Adherence to safety protocols and maintaining a clean work area are essential.

The role requires operating overhead cranes and forklifts, performing rust removal as needed, and collaborating with team members in a fast-paced environment to meet production goals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
• Experience operating overhead cranes and forklifts is essential.
• Must pass a pulmonary fit test to meet safety and health standards.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Familiarity with industrial painting techniques and safety practices.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Clean surfaces by removing grease, dirt, and other contaminants.
• Select and mix coating liquids to match desired colors and specifications.
• Pour coating liquids into spray containers and adjust spray equipment for optimal application.
• Apply primers and finishing coats with even coverage and quality finish.
• Remove rust from metal surfaces using grinders or brushes as needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times.
• Operate overhead cranes and monorail paint hoists to position items for painting.
