Whirlwind Steel is seeking a Spray Painter to apply primer and finishing coats to metal products, ensuring quality and safety standards. The role supports clean surfaces, proper prep, and organized workflows in a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience operating overhead cranes and forklifts.
• Must pass a pulmonary fit test.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Familiarity with industrial painting techniques and safety practices.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Clean surfaces by removing grease, dirt, and other contaminants using solvents and cleaners.
• Select and mix coating liquids to match colors and specifications.
• Pour liquids into spray containers, connect spray guns, and adjust spray settings.
• Skillfully apply primers and finishes with the spray gun for even coverage.
• Remove rust from metal surfaces using grinders or brushes as needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Operate overhead cranes and monorail paint hoists to position items for painting.
