Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Specimen Processor to join our team in Birmingham, AL. The position follows a Monday–Friday schedule from 9:00 PM to 5:30 AM with rotating weekends and holidays. The role involves preparing specimens for analysis, labeling, routing, and data entry to support timely turnaround and high-quality outcomes.

Minimum requirements include a High School Diploma or GED. Prior specimen processing or medical/lab experience (3 months or more) is preferred, with the ability to work

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 3 months or more of specimen processing experience preferred.
• 3 months or more of medical or laboratory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing.
• Unpack and route specimens to their staging areas.
• Accurately identify and label specimens.
• Pack and ship specimens to testing facilities.
• Meet department activity and production goals.
• Properly prepare and store excess specimen samples.
• Data entry of patient information accurately and timely.
• Resolve and document any problem specimens.
