Job summary

Sonora Quest is seeking a Night Shift Specimen Processing Technician to receive, sort, and prepare patient specimens, ensuring accurate entry into the system and proper distribution to analytical areas.

The role requires basic math, strong reading/writing, and at least 6 months of laboratory or encoding experience, with a High School Diploma or GED and 18+ age. Ability to stand and lift up to 25 pounds is expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 18 and ability to read, write and understand English.
• Good reading, writing and math abilities are required.
• Oral and written communication skills in English.
• Must have good organization skills.
• Typing/keyboarding at least 25 wpm.
• Six months’ experience in a laboratory or key encoding environment.
• High School Diploma or GED are required.

Responsibilities

• Receive biological specimens into the department.
• Enter specimens into the company computer system.
• Prepare samples for analytical testing.
• Distribute specimens to the proper analytical area.
• Archive specimens after testing.
