Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center is seeking a dedicated Specimen Processor to handle specimen processing, labeling, and data entry in a high-volume laboratory environment.

The role requires accuracy, attention to detail, and adherence to safety protocols on a night shift with rotating duties. Experience with LIS systems and EPIC Beaker is preferred, along with strong teamwork in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Previous specimen processing experience preferred.
• Ability to maintain specimen integrity and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Process laboratory samples per procedure and enter data into LIS.
• Label specimens accurately and track them to ensure specimen integrity.
• Maintain equipment and supplies, and follow safety and regulatory guidelines.
• Assist in queue management to support timely patient care.
• Provide training to other staff as needed.
