Job summary

Labcorp, a global leader in laboratory services, seeks a Technologist Trainee for the Special Chemistry team in Burlington, NC. The role supports testing operations during a Tuesday–Saturday, 8:00pm–4:30am shift and includes comprehensive on-the-job training.

New grads are welcome; minimal clinical lab experience is preferred with certification options available. The position emphasizes accuracy, teamwork, and adherence to SOPs, with opportunities for growth in a dynamic health-care environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical/biological science or clinical laboratory science.
• Willingness to work night shift (Tue-Sat, 8:00pm-4:30am).
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Proficient with computers; familiarity with laboratory information systems.
• Able to pass color blindness test and meet physical requirements.

Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to SOPs.
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
• Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls.
• Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care.
• Perform and document preventative maintenance and quality control procedures.
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.
• Assist with processing of specimens when needed.
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear PPE.
