Job summary

Steel Technologies LLC is seeking a Slitter Operator on Night Shift to set up and operate a slitter according to customer specs and production orders. You will inspect equipment and measure dimensions to ensure material quality.

You will thread coils, adjust setup, and maintain safety while meeting production targets. The role includes monitoring gauge accuracy and reporting non-conformities to supervision.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform complete set-up and operational tasks of slitting per customer specs and production requirements.
• Ability to use tape measures, Rockwell tester, micrometers and calipers.
• Ability to comply with safety rules and requirements.
• Ability to regularly lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate the slitter according to production instructions.
• Thread coil through slitter head and crop non-conforming material.
• Thread mults into recoiler and check alignment with specs.
• Maintain production and quality standards by measuring parameters.
• Record gauge width, hardness, camber, burr and surface condition.
• Monitor gauge system and calibrate as needed.
• Communicate non-compliance to supervisor or shift lead.
• Assist maintenance with troubleshooting and preventative maintenance.
