Job summary

Charles Schwab Corporation in Austin, TX is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to safeguard the stability and performance of Schwab's Order Management System. You will diagnose complex incidents, drive rapid restoration, and collaborate across engineering, infrastructure, databases, and vendor teams to minimize business impact.

As a senior member, you will shape best practices, mentor engineers, and advance automation, observability, and continuous improvement, with on-site 4 days a week night

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
• 5+ years in Production Support, SRE, or related role.
• Advanced experience troubleshooting Java-based distributed applications and SQL-backed systems.
• Experience with AppDynamics, Splunk, Grafana, InfluxDB, Control-M.
• Strong Oracle Database knowledge and SQL analysis.
• Strong Linux administration experience (RHEL 7/8/9).
• Scripting/automation with Python or Shell.
• Experience leading incident response and on-call rotations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Protect stability, performance, and resiliency of Schwab’s Order Management System.
• Diagnose production incidents and drive rapid restoration of critical systems.
• Collaborate across engineering, infra, DB, and vendor teams to minimize impact.
• Improve production readiness, observability, and automation.
• Mentor engineers and shape operational best practices.
• Support night shifts and rotating on-call model.
