Job summary

Plastipak Packaging is seeking a Shipping Clerk to manage all aspects of the shipping and receiving office, including forklift loading/unloading and documentation for shipments. The role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and teamwork within a fast-paced facility.

Qualifications

• Forklift experience is required (minimum 1 year).

Responsibilities

• Adhere to Safety, Quality, SOPs, and GMPs.
• Coordinate loading and ensure documentation for outbound/inbound shipments and shuttles.
• Housekeeping of office and warehouse areas.
• Operate forklift to load/unload trailers.
• Use RF scanning device to scan goods and maintain inventory.
• Instruct shuttle drivers and manage pool of trailers.
• Monitor product availability and coordinate loads with manufacturing warehouse.
• Report food safety issues to the appropriate authority.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

The Plastipak Shipping Clerk is responsible for all phases of operation of the shipping and receiving office including loading and unloading trucks via forklift.

You Will

• Adhere to all procedures within Safety, Corporate/Site Quality System, Operation Procedures, and Good Manufacturing Practices
• Coordinate the loading of and ensures proper documentation for all outbound and inbound shipments and shuttles
• Housekeeping of the office and warehouse areas
• Operate forklift to load and unload trailers
• Use RF scanning device to scan goods and properly maintain inventory
• Provides instruction to shuttle driver and manages pool of trailers
• Monitors availability of product for shipments. Works with manufacturing warehouse to coordinate loads to outside warehouses
• Responsible for reporting food safety issues to personnel with authority to initiate action
• Performs all other duties as assigned
