Job summary

Plastipak is seeking a Shipping Clerk to manage all phases of the shipping and receiving office, including forklift loading/unloading. You will ensure proper documentation, operate RF scanners, and coordinate loads with production and external warehouses.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of forklift experience is required.
• Ability to lift at least 25 lbs regularly.
• Regularly stand or sit for long periods, up to 12 hours.
• Team oriented with strong communication skills.
• Willing to work overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate loading of outbound and inbound shipments and maintain proper documentation.
• Operate forklift to load and unload trailers.
• Use RF scanning device to scan goods and maintain inventory.
• Ensure safety procedures and quality systems are followed.
• Housekeeping of the office and warehouse areas.
• Provide instruction to shuttle drivers and manage trailer pools.
• Report food safety issues and collaborate with supervision.

Job description

The Plastipak Shipping Clerk is responsible for all phases of operation of the shipping and receiving office including loading and unloading trucks via forklift.

You Will

• Adhere to all procedures within Safety, Corporate/Site Quality System, Operation Procedures, and Good Manufacturing Practices
• Coordinate the loading of and ensures proper documentation for all outbound and inbound shipments and shuttles
• Housekeeping of the office and warehouse areas
• Operate forklift to load and unload trailers
• Use RF scanning device to scan goods and properly maintain inventory
• Provides instruction to shuttle driver and manages pool of trailers
• Monitors availability of product for shipments. Works with manufacturing warehouse to coordinate loads to outside warehouses
• Responsible for reporting food safety issues to personnel with authority to initiate action
• Performs all other duties as assigned
