Job summary

Crowne Plaza Ventura Beach in Ventura, CA is seeking a part-time Security Officer to protect guests, employees, and assets, respond to emergencies, monitor access points, and uphold a safe, secure environment.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, 1–2 years security experience, and CPR/First Aid training preferred; bilingual skills are a plus; benefits include paid time off and brand hotel discounts.

Responsibilities

• Identifies situations where security violations have occurred and takes action to ensure safety.
• Performs inspections of premises to identify risks and report incidents.
• Maintains access control and issues temporary badges as needed.
• Responds to emergencies including fires, medical incidents, and law enforcement situations; assists until authorities arrive.
• Monitors restricted areas and ensures proper authorization for access.
• Tests and maintains security and fire protection systems; documents findings and recommendations.
• Documents irregularities, incidents, or emergency actions.
• Checks packages and identification; detains unauthorized persons without proper ID.
• Interfaces with local law enforcement and security agencies as situations require.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
