Qualifications

• 4 years of Security, law enforcement, or military experience required.
• Bachelor's degree may substitute for 2 years of the required security, law enforcement, or military experience.
• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Preferred associate's degree.
• LCSO - Commissioned Security Officer Texas Department of Public Safety - Private Security Board, acquired within 90 days of entering the role
• CAHSO - Certified Advanced Healthcare Security Officer International Association for Healthcare Security & Safety (IAHSS), acquired within 90 days of entering the role
• TDR - Texas Driver's License State of Texas, acquired within 90 days of entering the role
• Must pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check with a clear driving record by entry date
• Must pass a Physical Fitness Test by entry date
• Firearms qualification - State of Texas
• Preferred BLS - Cert-Basic Life Support within 90 days of entering the role

Responsibilities

• Assists in training and supervising security teams.
• Assigns personnel to ensure minimum staffing levels.
• Ensures primary responsibilities of securing posts, patrolling the campus, and traffic flow.
• Assists with Pedestrian Assistance post staffing.
• Ensures equipment (radios, keys) are functional at shift start.
• Maintains staffing calendar to meet minimum coverage.
• Escalates coverage requests to schedule resources.
• Communicates with shift supervisors to arrange coverage.
• Observes and reports on conditions inside/outside the hospital for threats.
• Supervises and evaluates security staff on assigned shifts.
• Promotes professional appearance and customer relations.
• Operates and maintains Hospital-owned vehicles as directed.
• Responds to emergencies and supports life-saving measures when needed.
• Completes required hospital and department trainings and certifications.
