Job summary

Sylvania in Cicero, IL is seeking a Night Shift Custodian to keep school facilities safe, clean, and ready for students and staff. The role supports and assists the Head Custodian and building leadership with daily operations, snow removal, weekend checks, and event setup/takedown outside regular hours.

Qualified applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid Illinois driver’s license, and health certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must hold a valid Illinois Driver's License.
• Certification of good health signed by a licensed physician.
• Prior experience as a night shift custodian required.
• Ability to lift up to 80 pounds and stand/walk for extended periods.
• Ability to work with limited supervision and interact with students, staff, parents, and community members.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe, clean, and attractive environment for students, staff, and parents.
• Assist Head Custodian with daily custodial operations and building maintenance.
• Perform snow removal and weekend building checks.
• Set up and take down facilities for school functions and programs during and outside regular hours.
