Job summary

TIC - The Industrial Company in Port Arthur, TX is seeking a skilled Scaffolding Journeyman to perform erection, dismantling, and rigging for industrial projects. You will read blueprints, select tools, and build scaffolds safely.

This role requires experience in power plants or industrial settings, ability to work long hours, and readiness to pass safety tests. Local candidates preferred.

Qualifications

• Ability to read blueprints and specifications to determine scope, quantities, and materials.
• Knowledge of tools required for tasks and ability to measure, mark, and cut materials to spec.
• Experience erecting and disassembling scaffolding for buildings and structures; installing ladders, handrails, walkways, platforms, and gangways.
• Experience constructing, reinforcing, and dismantling pre-constructed scaffolds.
• Ability to perform rigging of equipment loads and ensure safety.
• Strong communication to receive and transmit written and oral instructions and coordinate with supervision.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and specifications to determine scope of work, locations, quantities, and sizes of materials.
• Identify tools required for tasks and measure, mark, and cut materials to spec.
• Erect and disassemble scaffolding; install ladders, handrails, walkways, platforms, and gangways.
• Construct and dismantle pre-constructed scaffolds; build wooden scaffolds and auxiliary items.
• Rig loads and perform load handling; estimate sizes and needed resources.
• Inspect workers' outputs for compliance with plans and correct issues.
