Job summary

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA is seeking a Safety Partner to work on-site during the 3rd shift. You will accompany patients at risk to ensure safety and support their function while in the Emergency Department.

The role emphasizes teamwork and delivering safe patient care in a 53-bed ED that serves a Trauma One facility. Requirements include a High School Diploma or equivalent and BLS certification, with preferred experience in healthcare or enrollment in a health sciences

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Preferred: Prior healthcare experience or enrollment in a health sciences program.

Responsibilities

• Assist with keeping patients and the hospital safe.
• Sit with patients at risk of suicide, falls, wandering, self-harm or other risk behaviors.
• Collaborate with the care team to support patient safety and function during stay.
