Job summary

AdventHealth Port Charlotte is seeking a Registered Nurse for a night shift to provide comprehensive patient care. You will assess needs, plan and implement care, administer medications, educate patients and families, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safety and quality.

The ideal candidate holds an RN license in Florida and an Associate's degree in Nursing, with a Bachelor’s degree preferred. 1+ year of acute care experience is desirable.

Qualifications

• RN licensure in Florida.
• 1+ acute care hospital experience preferred.
• English fluency (read, write, speak).
• Ability to document accurately and use electronic medical records.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients across physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual, and lifestyle factors.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans, evaluating and revising as needed.
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and hospital protocols.
• Educate patients and families on health conditions, treatments, and self-care strategies.
• Collaborate with medical staff to coordinate and optimize patient care.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the medical record.
• Evaluate care plan effectiveness and adjust to improve outcomes.
• Ensure infection control and safety standards are followed.
• Provide emotional support and therapeutic communication to patients and families.
• Supervise and delegate care to healthcare team members.
• Engage in professional development and performance improvement activities.
• Respond to code situations promptly and effectively.
