Job summary

MUSC Community Physicians (MCP) is part of the Medical University of South Carolina, delivering care to patients in the rural health network across South Carolina. The Registered Nurse role provides patient/family centered care leveraging the nursing process to ensure safe, effective outcomes.

Shifts include three twelve-hour periods per week (7p–7a) with one weekend per month; scheduled weekly hours total 36. Requires SC RN licensure, BLS prior to orientation, and PALS/ACLS certification.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) prior to orientation.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation).
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to provide age/developmentally appropriate care.
• Deliver patient/family centered care while maintaining privacy, safety, and professional standards.
• Coordinate care, health teaching, and promotion consistent with MUSC policies.
