Job summary

UMC Health System is seeking a Registered Nurse for the full-time night shift (7PM–7AM). The role involves direct patient care, assessing and treating conditions, and coordinating with physicians to ensure quality outcomes.

Candidates should have graduated from an accredited nursing program and hold a Texas RN license or be eligible for the Compact. BSN is preferred or must be obtained within 3 years of hire.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Valid Texas RN License or Eligible Compact License.
• Minimum 1 year of acute care experience.
• ER experience preferred.
• Must maintain a current BLS, ACLS & PALS certification.

Responsibilities

• Direct patient care including assessment and treatment of medical conditions.
• Take and record histories and physical examinations; communicate with physicians.
• Review patient health records with physician; ensure documentation is complete and accessible.
• Participate in QI activities and adhere to clinic policies.
• Adjust work hours/schedules to meet clinic needs; respond to emergencies per disaster plans.
• Work collaboratively with team; demonstrate leadership and teaching abilities.
