Job summary

Christiana Care Health System is seeking a Registered Nurse to work 24 hours per week on the Night Shift at our Christiana Hospital on the 3D Transitional Stepdown Unit. The TMU/3D unit cares for acutely ill patients with various diagnoses and complex needs.

The role requires a BSN or ADN with a 3-year BSN commitment, and at least 1 year of experience. BLS is required; the team emphasizes critical thinking, teamwork, and education for patients and families.

Qualifications

• BSN required; ADN candidates acceptable with a BSN commitment
• Minimum 1 year of acute or sub-acute care experience preferred
• BLS certification required

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, and deliver care to adult patients with respiratory focus
• Collaborate with nursing, social work, pharmacy, respiratory therapist, and physicians
• Manage patients with ventilator-dependent respiratory failure and other diagnoses
• Provide education to patients and families about medications and disease
• Monitor patients and respond to emergencies
• Assist in patient transitions to appropriate care levels
• Handle 3-4 patient assignments
