Job summary

Christiana Care Health System is seeking a Registered Nurse to work 24 hours per week on the Night Shift at our Christiana Hospital on the 3D Transitional Stepdown Unit. The TMU/3D unit cares for acutely ill patients with various diagnoses and complex needs.

The role requires a BSN or ADN with a 3-year BSN commitment, and at least 1 year of experience. BLS is required; the team emphasizes critical thinking, teamwork, and education for patients and families.

Qualifications

• BSN required; ADN candidates acceptable with a BSN commitment
• Minimum 1 year of acute or sub-acute care experience preferred
• BLS certification required

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, and deliver care to adult patients with respiratory focus
• Collaborate with nursing, social work, pharmacy, respiratory therapist, and physicians
• Manage patients with ventilator-dependent respiratory failure and other diagnoses
• Provide education to patients and families about medications and disease
• Monitor patients and respond to emergencies
• Assist in patient transitions to appropriate care levels
• Handle 3-4 patient assignments

Christiana Care Health System is seeking a Registered Nurse to work 24 hours per week on the Night Shift at our Christiana Hospital on the 3D Transitional Stepdown Unit. Weekend and Holidays - per the guidelines of the department. The Transitional Medical Unit (TMU)/3D Intermediate Unit team offers an unique opportunity to provide care for acutely ill patients requiring different levels of care. Responsibilities

• Utilize critical thinking and clinical expertise to assess, plan, and deliver individualized care to an adult patient population with a respiratory focus.
• As a member of our team, you will work closely with the interdisciplinary team including nursing, social work, pharmacy, respiratory therapist, hospitalists, and consultants such as Pulmonologists, Nephrologists, Cardiologists, and Infectious Disease.
• A range of diagnoses including ventilator dependent respiratory failure, COPD, Pulmonary Hypertension, Acute Renal Failure, GI Bleed, DKA, Sepsis, and many others.
• TMU/3C nurses are highly skilled in caring for acutely ill and complex patients, who are proficient in ventilator management, trach care, suctioning, wound care, and more.
• We deliver comprehensive patient care that is patient and family centered to ensure patient comfort and positive outcomes by providing education related to medications and disease process.
• In addition, you will closely monitor patients and manage any emergencies than may arise.
• Once stabilized, we assist with the transition of patients to the appropriate level of care.
• We assist in managing 3-4 patient assignment.

General Requirements

• BSN required

Hourly Pay Range: $41.28 - $66.05This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare's good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
