McKenzie-Willamette Medical Center in Oregon is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Surgical Care Unit on the Night shift. This 36-hour/week role involves post-operative care, monitoring vitals, medication administration, and coordinating with the surgical team.

Qualifications

• Current licensure as an RN, State of Oregon.
• Current BLS.
• Two years acute care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop individualized care plans based on patient needs and surgical procedure.
• Monitor vital signs, pain levels, and other clinical parameters throughout the surgical process.
• Administer medications as prescribed, including pre-operative medications and post-operative pain management.
• Manage post-operative complications such as nausea, pain, bleeding, and vital sign instability.
• Provide patient education regarding post-operative care instructions and wound management.
• Maintain clear and concise communication with the surgical team, anesthesia providers, and other healthcare professionals.
• Report any patient concerns or changes in condition promptly.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes.
